Adaline & Eliotte

A 1930's Love Story

The 1930's Love Story of Adaline & Eliotte

This is a love story set on the imagined Normandy coastline of 1930’s  Étretat, France where Adaline Fontaine and Eliotte Auclair are to be wed. It is a simpler time of slow romance and courting. A time of innocent young love where two lovers marry without fear of the future, unaware of the coming world war they will soon be plunged into.

They met as young children on the immigration steamship from France to Canada after the horrors of WWI ravaged Europe; the remains of their family looking for a peaceful life.
Fate would separate them as their families settled in different parts of Toronto.

Soulmates will always find one another; Eliotte's heart recgonized this  truth before his eyes could perceive its reality. Nearly two decades spent apart, Adaline now was before him, sitting in the window of a Toronto cafe across the street. Sunlight shown down, its natural spot light illuminating her as she stirred her cup of tea; casually looking out for an apparent meeting with another. Adaline looked more beautiful than he imagined the woman she would grow to be. Every fibre of his being knew it was her. Crossing the street quickly, he took the empty seat before anyone else ever could again.

Love came quickly. Their courtship was sweet and tender, innocent and fun loving. Having grown up in an age of innocence, they pledged themselves to each other soon after their reunion and wed  in France to his Grandmother's White Mansion Estate while on holiday.

Equally matched, they are independent and bold and un-afraid of the future; twin souls in keen intelligence, integrity, respect, wisdom and passion. Adaline’s intensity of spirit and Eliotte’s calm strength balance each other and the world is in awe of their chemistry and romance. They are each others home. Individually they both quietly demand attention as their presence is arresting, but together they are a force to be reckoned with.

Eliotte is of upright noble character, a man of fidelity, integrity and honour; a man of action and uncommon truth; worthy of Adaline's love. Adaline is fair and fierce and every part Elliott's equal in personality and ambition.

There is an uncommon passion between them: a perfect storm of abandon and restraint. Their's is a noteworthy love that is incredibly pure; a love story that others will watch unfold and be drawn to as the great love stories of old.

Their wedding day on August 9, 1937 is slow paced, deliberately delicate and poignant beyond description, for their's is a love story, a legacy the generations after them will speak fondly and reverently of.
